Central City Tavern

GRADE:  B

Food – Your typical neighborhood bar food. You have your burgers and sandwiches with some pasta thrown in the menu too. Nothing overly incredible but good enough to hit the spot every time. I personally had the Bleu burger. The burger itself was cooked perfect which is the only noteworthy thing about it. Don’t get me wrong it was good, but not particularly noteworthy. Food gets a B-

Ambiance – It’s in the corner of a newer shopping center. Inside it’s your typical neighborhood bar.  A little dark, lit mostly by large screen tv’s, wooden tables and high tops, etc. It’s a great place to relax and hang out. It also had a pretty eclectic crowd from the young 20 something’s to the old men sitting around telling stories. It’s a bar for anyone. Ambiance gets a B+

Service – Guy that served us was very friendly. He joked with us, made some recommendations and was pretty quick. It was good service overall. Service gets an B+

Price/Quality – My Bleu Burger was $9 and beer was below average price as well. While the prices are very good they also have daily specials as well. You can get cheap wings, ½ price appetizers, $3 wells and much more depending on what night you go. It really can be an amazing value. Price/Quality gets an A

Uniqueness – There are plenty of neighborhood bars around. This one happens to be better than most. Still not unique enough that I would drive to Midtown for it, but if I lived there or if I was in the area this would be my bar of choice. If you are around and looking for a joint like this, I think you’ll like it. Uniqueness gets a B-
